Warhol's Tank. Banana Time. Trash Hublot.

Cartier’s Tank has had more than 15 minutes of fame. As has Andy Warhol. Turns out his view on the Tank has a lot to do with what we feel about watches today. Though maybe not what we feel about time. You be the judge.

  1. See an Andy Warhol gallery show in NYC.
    Over 100 multi media pieces are on display in the Brant Foundation’s East Village gallery.

  2. Vintage Watches and Collectibles auction, Miami.
    Browse scores of sweet vintage watches at this online and live auction starting Saturday. At the time of this writing there were still no bids on a rugged Omega Seamaster 300 Automatic (Ref 166.024-67) with a lived-in patina, a stunning Zenith El Primero Chrono with a dial that should not be missed, an 18k gold and jewel encrusted Rolex Chellini (model 4354) that would be perfect for Elvis or Liberace (Elvis in fact had a different model Chellini).

  3. Go to the PGA (or just watch it, and bid on those watches we just mentioned).

Turns out you can make a banana into a battery that provides energy/. Not enough to fly you to London. Maybe enough to power a quartz watch. But that is not what I mean by this. Call me crazy, but for that retail you could get a Tank Louis (like Warhol never wound), plus a decent week’s rental in Montauk, AND max out your IRA this year. Perhaps those three things are not connected whatsoever. In any case. This Hublot… is trash!
